When love is truly in the air!

Butterflies courtship is beautiful and romantic!

It’s a discovery of the senses and a serious game of survival, there is not much time to loose because they live only a very short life.

So, first they wear their most beautiful dress, it’s a show of wonderful colors and nuances.

Then, a touch of perfume. Infact, they release pheromones in the air to attract the right type, and they can be so powerful to be picked up even 10 miles away.

And now that they are closer, males send out acoustic signals that let the females know they are available but at the same time they threaten other competitors. Some will even sing!

Once the potential couple find each other, he has to dance for her and if she enjoys then the courtship has been successful. But often he has to dance a lot before she accepts.

This is my watercolor painting of beautiful and colorful butterflies flying up to the sky, in search of freedom, happiness and love.

I write poems (exclusively in Italian). What I love in working with colours is that it's a direct language with no barriers. And I like how it brings me into my dreamworld.
I'm fond in particular of nature, because in its beauty there is love and hope.
