Homemade fruit jams are a natural healthy option for preparing a tasty breakfast that will give you a quick boost of energy. If you want to surprise your family with something truly nice but not the ordinary fruit jam, you could try a banana jam!
It’s so delicious, more delicate than you might think, and you can either use it on your slices of bread or as a special ingredient for a cake.
You will be surprised by its goodness!
You need to put much less sugar than other kinds of fruit jams, about half the weight of the fruit.
Besides, bananas should be ripe but not soft and dipped into lemon juice after slicing them.
You can add a vanilla pod or a teaspoon of cinnamon powder. Personally I like to add a teaspoon of butter once the jam is cooked. I add it in the strawberry jam as well, it’s really yummy!
Banana jam is a great jam that you can prepare any time all the year round, let me know if you try it!
By the way, you can find my painting of Bananas in my Kitchen Art collection

Thanks a million, Abbie for your kind comment!
You can use it also in cakes!
Oh I do that. Actually we go through a tree of bananas a week. He uses them as he’s a power lifter in training for a competition. Take 3 just to the gym… Then there’s breakfast etc. Jam would be just another thing 😂
My speciality is tomato and chilli – wonderful with cheese of all sorts, omelettes, curries, schnitzel, fish … . I like it best when not too sharp: say 1 Kg tomatoes and a couple of Jalapeños, but if you like to sweat then load up the chillies!
