Participant::As you pointed out in the first sentence, critique is not criticism. Yet it can be easily misunderstood. I think that critique should be offered only when invited. Even then there is a catch. Some of us are used to frank and direct language that often comes across as rude. That can be devastating when misunderstood. Critique needs to be expressed in a way, in language, that the creator can relate to without offense. It should be about the work and not the author. And yet I often fail.

Participant::A long, long time ago, in a county far away, I started with a Zeiss Nettar camera. That was a 6×6 cm roll film camera. Then in college I graduated to 35mm with a Contaflex. Early in my working career I got a Leica M2. I spent most of my working days in the photography industry and used a wide range of gear. I still have several Pentax and Nimslo cameras from those days. When I joined the digital age I did so with a Nikon D60 and several other digital cameras. Nowadays I use a Nikon D800 and more often than not my iPhone camera.

Participant::Well, my first try to show what I have done seems to have disappeared.
Here is my “Holiday Shop”: Holiday Shop – Ludwig.Gallery
Next I plan to post on Facebook and invite one and all to my shop.
As I don’t have many followers I don’t expect much business, but I am always optimistic that someone will see my unique art in many forms and purchase an item or two.

Participant::You have described it to a tee. A month ago I stopped work on a large project and just have not been able to return to it. Your list of common causes is right on. I was spending all available time on that work, nobody pitched in and I felt totally alone. The work had to be precise and accurate. It just felt like too much.
I have not even heard back from the team leader and still feel neglected and unappreciated.
Maybe another week or month and I will be able to contribute again.
Thank you very much for your insights. They give me hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Participant::Many artists in the past had helpers and apprentices to do some of the details. I think of AI as an assistant. It seems like it will be a while before that assistant will be able to carry out assignment as expected. Until then we just have to do the art ourselves.
Counting fingers may be something AI can’t be trusted with any time soon.
Like you, Abbie, I will be doing my photography and photo-manipulations myself.

Participant::Well, I went back and tried again. This is what I asked for: “Boy on a sled being pulled by another boy. They are in the middle of the street. There is snow all around. The location is a modern urban area with tall buildings. There are shops with brightly light windows.” Here is what I got.
