Comments are a great way to connect with readers — but they also need managing. WordPress gives you tools to approve, edit, or block comments easily.
Where to Find Comments
Log in to your Dashboard.
Click Comments in the left-hand menu.
You’ll see four tabs: All, Pending, Approved, Spam.
Approving or Deleting
Pending: New comments wait here until you decide.
– Hover over a comment and choose Approve or Trash.
Approved: These are visible on your blog.
Spam: Comments flagged as spam by WordPress or you.
Editing Comments
Hover over a comment and click Edit.
You can fix typos or remove unwanted links before approving.
Settings for Control
Go to Settings → Discussion in the Dashboard.
Choose whether:
– Comments must be manually approved.
– Only logged-in users can comment.
– WordPress should hold comments with links (good for reducing spam).
Tips:
Check your comments regularly — it shows readers you’re engaged.
Don’t be afraid to delete spam or unkind remarks.
Encourage discussion by replying to genuine comments.
