Miserable Weather – Kathy From KeppenArt

Stella opened the door. Immediately she was surrounded by a cold, thick fog. It was as though she was walking through a light, misty rain. By the time she reached her car her hair was wet and water was running down the back of her raincoat.

The cold dampness penetrated her body. The vertebrae in her spine were sending pain signals to her brain, protesting the cold with violent shivering.

She pushed down on the clutch and turned the key in the ignition.

Nothing. The car did not start.

No sound.

No movement.

Nothing.

Three times she tried to start the car without success.

Painfully she got out of the car and slammed the door shut.

Running back to the house she yelled, “Damn miserable weather!”
