My Friend Diane

The bike was used and free to all.
Its owner, Diane, was a friend of mine.
We were strangers before the storm,
But after we shared a glass of cheap wine.

What we had in common was huge.
Loss of items from many years gone by.
Our homes, our clothes but most of all,
The loss of old photos would make us cry.

I often wonder about that old bike.
Its owner, Diane, was a friend of mine.
We were strangers before the storm.
But after we shared a glass of cheap wine.
