To me daffodils embody the joy of spring. Hereabouts they are the first green sticking through the debris on the floor of the woods at the edges of brown lawns and in other neglected, out of the way, places. They bring a smile on a cold, blustery day when all of a sudden there is a burst of yellow sunshine bobbing in the breeze.
