We have traveled more than usual this year.\u00a0 Our overnight accommodations have been in a private waterfront home and 3 or 4 star hotels in small towns, one in the north and one in the south (USA locations) but both owned by international hotel chains.<\/strong><\/p>\n One stay this past year was in a Boutique Hotel in a small, southern town.\u00a0 The accommodations were as different from the internationally owned hotels as was the d\u00e9cor in the private, waterfront home. <\/strong><\/p>\n Soft coastal colors, a few nautical features and cozy, comfortable furniture filled the private home.\u00a0 In the Boutique Hotel, the d\u00e9cor and design paid homage to the building\u2019s early twentieth century beginning.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n The \u201cregular\u201d hotels provide some consistency, most serve at least a minimal breakfast and other amenities (pool\/gym\/laundry) that most boutique hotels do not provide.<\/strong><\/p>\n If you are spending most of your time in your overnight\/vacation room asleep then the d\u00e9cor is not going to be the most important feature.\u00a0 A comfortable bed and pillows will be number one priority. A quiet environment is second. <\/strong><\/p>\n So far this year our overnight accommodations have been very different but relatively quiet and comfortable.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I\u2019ve actually enjoyed the change of (d\u00e9cor) scenery from one trip to the next.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n Have you stayed in different overnight accommodations?<\/strong><\/p>\n
