It\u2019s official!\u00a0 It is Summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hot Weather \u2013 Strong Sunlight \u2013 Warm Evenings<\/strong><\/p>\n

I love all of those things.\u00a0 I will even put up with the bugs that come with summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first day of summer is\u00a0 the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere where I live. How funny that the second day of summer actually means that each day gets shorter with fewer hours of sun and yet I still get so excited about the summer season.<\/strong><\/p>\n

When I lived in the \u201cdeep south\u201d I would get excited about spring.\u00a0 Spring meant that each successive day was longer and warmer than the last.\u00a0 Spring meant that we were on the way to summer, my favorite season.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But now that I am living in the foothills of the mountains Spring means a transition to warmer weather but not quite out of winter.\u00a0 Nights are still chilly if not downright cold sometimes.\u00a0 The sun is working its way north and the days are getting longer but the atmosphere is not warming up as quickly as it does in the flat lands of the deep south.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Summertime, and the livin\u2019 is easy according to Janice Joplin.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Vacations, picnics, and trips to the beach.\u00a0 Suntans, fireflies and blooming flowers.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

What\u2019s not to love?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s all get excited about summer, get out into the great outdoors and live this year\u2019s warm weather season to the fullest! \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
