I wanted to spend some time on Amelia Island, Florida.\u00a0\u00a0 I picked my birthday week and went online to make reservations.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0No vacancies.\u00a0 Booked up.\u00a0\u00a0 In March?\u00a0\u00a0 I then remembered that Colleges around the U.S. take a spring break anywhere from the end of February to the middle of April.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We decided instead of going to Florida we would go to the Mississippi Gulf Coast where we had lived for almost 20 years until five years ago.\u00a0 We were able to secure a rental directly in front of our former home.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

There we were.\u00a0 Right there in our old neighborhood.\u00a0 What a gorgeous location, too.\u00a0 The house we stayed in faces the Saint Louis Bay.\u00a0 It is a beautiful home with a nice pier built out into the bay.<\/strong><\/p>\n

When we lived there I would help the out-of-state owners anytime that they had renters as I was right there next to the property.\u00a0 I had been in their house thousands of times.\u00a0 We had even spent one Christmas holiday there since we had moved.\u00a0 I felt like I was home.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The big change, though, was that all of our neighbors were no longer there. \u00a0The few of us that lived in that neighborhood full time sold our homes and moved away.\u00a0 The entire neighborhood now consists of vacation homes for people who live out of state.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We spent the first two days visiting with friends from New Orleans.\u00a0 The weather was great but we were inside much of the time.\u00a0 The third day the weather was great in the morning but clouded up and rained in the afternoon.\u00a0 Day four and five:\u00a0 all day rain!<\/strong><\/p>\n

When I posted on social media that we were headed south, going to the coast, everyone told me to enjoy the beach since they all know how much I love the beach.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

I never got to the actual beach!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The best part about the stay is that it didn\u2019t matter that I never got to the actual beach.\u00a0 The entire front of the rental house faces the water and is all glass.\u00a0 My brain was filled with natural light and views of the water for days.\u00a0 That was exactly what I needed.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Visits with friends.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Staying in a gorgeous home.<\/strong><\/p>\n

My Spring Break.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thank you God for refreshing my soul.<\/strong><\/p>\n
