How many of you have a button collection?\u00a0 Maybe you have a button jar or box?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m not sure why I keep all those extra buttons that come with shirts and blouses but I do.\u00a0 Those buttons are sent with your garment so you will have a matching one if any buttons come loose and fall off of your shirt.<\/strong><\/p>\n

How many times has that happened and you actually lost the loose button, not knowing where it fell off?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The best that I can remember, that has never happened to me \u2013 so why do I still save those buttons?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Did your mother or grandmother have a button collection?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Was there a cigar box or mason jar full of assorted buttons of different colors and sizes in their homes?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Did you ever see your mom or grandma pour out those buttons, looking for just the right size or color to match whatever garment they were repairing?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Have YOU ever raked through a pile of buttons to find the right one to sew on a garment that was missing one?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I believe that I\u2019ve viewed more art made with buttons than seeing someone sewing them on a garment! <\/strong><\/p>\n

My button collection is rather small, containing only a few more than what\u2019s shown in the photograph accompanying this post. I must admit that I was tempted, before throwing away a worn out blouse, to cut the buttons off of that blouse.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The temptation passed when I realized I hadn\u2019t replaced a missing button in years and the idea that I would use them for artwork was slim to none.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But slim chance showed up when I entered the Art Challenge with Buttons as a theme.\u00a0 That small button collection was featured in two different photographs of that three day challenge.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Maybe tomorrow I\u2019ll throw out those few buttons.\u00a0 Or maybe I won\u2019t.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After all, I can\u2019t say for sure that I won\u2019t need any of those extra buttons ever again\u2026.or my key collection, my wine cork collection, my seashell collection\u2026\u2026\u2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n
