Tech Savvy NOT
If you grew up with modern technology, using a smart phone or computer before you ever entered school, then most likely you don’t worry about needing a new phone, or a new computer. You probably do little or no research on what you may need or want. You go online or to your nearest tech or big box store, look around a little and purchase your new equipment. With only an hour or two you are ready to go, new software loaded and learned.
But if you were post high school or college before personal computers were even invented, or if you were middle aged before the advent of cell phones and did not work in the tech industry or take classes in modern technology, then you are more than likely anxious and confused when faced with the need for new equipment.
Research on what you may actually need can be overwhelming, too. There are so many choices. So many factors to learn about and consider. Let’s take computers or laptops for example.
A few things that you need to consider are speed, storage, screen resolution, reliability and for laptops there’s battery life.
There you are reading the words, RAM, ROM, Hard Drive, Solid State Drive, Flash Drive, Bits, Bytes, USB, OS, GFX………
It’s almost enough to make a senior citizen want to go plug in that rotary dial, landline phone before bicycling off to the library to find reading material!
