A politician sees a homeless man…….

There is no word amount goal. We will bring that later when we have done this for a few weeks. For now you are just getting into the swing of it.

The man has no shoes. His socks are black from the filth on the streets and one big toe protrudes. That toe is just as dirty as his socks.

His trousers are held up on his frail hips with a worn piece of rope. His hair is shoulder length and matted. His beard is laced with gray whiskers.

“Ah, look at that photo-op”, whispers the politician to his aide, “get the media guys!”. He motions to another aide to come closer, “Give me a couple of bills, maybe three, four dollars, so I can give this pathetic fellow some alms.” Gingerly he steps closer, not wanting to be touched by the poor fellow, positioning himself so the light from the bus station is fully on his face. “Here,” he says to the homeless man, “get yourself a new pair of shows.” He hands him the dollar bills, smiles for the camera, and turns away …
